Brunch with Industry is an event to bring together engineering and science students with successful professional women in these fields. The event will consist of keynote speakers, including Navan Chawla and Dr. Sandra McGill, as well as a lavish brunch. The speakers will share their experiences and give professional advice, allowing students to gain insight on opportunities and roles of women in the STEM industry.
This year’s theme, redefining success, focuses on the importance of defining your own version of success, making goals for yourself, and showcasing the differences between individual definitions of success.
WiSE at Queen’s University hosts two larger-scale networking events (a casual setting during brunch in the fall semester and formal setting during dinner in the winter semester), where we invite professionals with science and engineering backgrounds to present and speak to Queen’s students.
Brunch with Industry was a huge success
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again in February 2024 for Dinner with Industry!
Dinner ith Industry
DWI brings students together to connect with female professionals from industry and academia that have diverse backgrounds in science and engineering. Our most recent event included intriguing speakers, recent graduate students moderating breakout rooms, small breakout rooms for networking with our speakers and a complimentary Uber Eats gift card! In 2022, the theme aimed to highlight Black, Indigenous, and people of colour and their accomplishments within STEM field.
Speakers shared reflections over the course of their careers, how they chose one path over another, obstacles they have overcome and any lessons learned for young professionals.
DWI will be held February 13th, 2024 at the Isabel Bader Centre! Check back here on January 1st to register.
