Mentorship Program

WiSE is trying out a pilot mentorship program! The program will consist of meeting your mentor face-to-face at least once per year (when possible), and you would be encouraged to exchange emails at least once per month. Mentors would be recruited from women alumna and other interested professionals, and you would be matched based on the career interests you identify.

Roles and responsibilities of Mentorees

As a Mentoree, your responsibilities will be to define your personal objectives and what you wish to gain from your Mentor, initiate and follow through with your communications, set concrete goals, apply your learning, and give your Mentor feedback on how she has helped you.

Roles and responsibilities of Mentors

As a Mentor, your role would be to foster a stimulating relationship with your Mentoree, assisting in the development of specific skills, and in acquiring knowledge to facilitate professional and personal growth. You should challenge your Mentoree to go beyond his/her comfort zone, and provide appropriate guidance and feedback.

Please feel free to contact wise.mentorship@engsoc.queensu.ca if you have any questions!
